The right Golf Wedges can improve your Score
If you can hit the ball with golf wedges to within one putt range, you have a great chance for a
par score. Most golf instructors will tell you that the short game from about 100 yards
of the hole is important, if you want to lower your score.
The most common wedges are the pitching wedge, the sand wedge and the lob wedge. For
recreational players, a pitching and sand wedge is sufficient. For more advanced golfers,
a lob wedge or wedge with a loft that suits the player more, might be beneficial.
Many companies carry various wedge combinations, where you can choose between different
materials, styles and finishes. If you are an advanced player, a proper wedge selection
can be beneficial to your game. In some cases, you might want to carry 3 wedges, instead
of the normal pitching and sand wedge.
The difference between a pitching and sand wedge is the design of the sole. The
bottom of the sand wedge is designed to glide through the sand, while the pitching wedge's
sole is designed to dig into it.
